This monograph brings together works by Philippe Cognée from 2009 to 2022. Moving landscapes as seen from a train, restless crowds, alienating urban architecture, the banal objects that surround him, carcasses or half-wilted flowers, are among the themes he favors. His blurred wax canvases disrupt our relationship with reality, questioning the limits of figuration to reveal a universe as poetic as it is disturbing.
